King Alfred The Great
King Alfred The Great was my 34th Great Grand Father. I am rather proud to find out that he was a royal linage, because he was a very righteous and a very great king. In fact, I don't think that any other kings or Queens throughout history in the British Isles matched or came close to his as far as being righteous and great for the people he ruled. In using the word "ruled", I am not suggesting that Alfred was some kind of cruel ruler, but a provider, a governor, and a just king of the land.
Below shows the genealogy of King Alfred to Adam and it was taken from the book "The Story of King Alfred" by Walter Besant and was first published in 1901.

Hector Roy MacLean
Hector Ruadh MacLean, or Eachuinn Ruadh nan Cath which
is translated to “Red Hector of the Battles” was the sixth Chief of the MacLean
Clan. He was born in 1368 and he is my 17th great grandfather on my mother’s
side. He was noted as one of the best swordsmen of his time. Many renowned
knights came from distant places to challenge him to a death match with the
sword. One knight from Norway challenged Hector to mortal combat. The Norwegian
however, died from Hector’s sword at Salen in Mull. In 1400, he commanded a fleet of
ships toward the shores of Ireland to do battle with the ships of England and
the English invaders. Many Englishmen were slain. Hector received a charter
from Donald MacDonald, second Lord of the Isles, for certain lands wherein he
was described as "lord of Duard and constable of the castle of Cairnburg.
Hector’s last battle was at the Battle of Harlaw. Towards the end of the
battle, Hector locked swords with the Baron Alexander Irvine of Drum. A fierce
combat between the two insured. The two fell dead from the wounds that each
afflicted on one another.

King James VI of Scotland and also became King James I of England
James VI of The House of Stuart was king of Scotland. When his disgraced mother Mary, Queen of Scots, and her cousin Elizabeth I of England died without issue, he also became king of England. He styled himself King of Great Britain; though each kingdom still governed themselves. He was known for his great intellect, his bad manners and his foul temper, but most notably, for commissioning the King James Bible and starting British colonization of North America (Jamestown). He was born on June 19, 1566 at Edinburgh Castle to Henry Stewart, Lord of Darnley, and Mary Queen of Scots. James died on March 27, 1625, at Theobalds Park, Hertfordshire, at the age of 58. He is my 11th Great Grandfather.
